Days after she was found having a mental health episode,Amanda Byneswill remain under psychiatric care for a little while longer. It was previously reported thatBynes was spotted roaming the streets of Los Angeleswhile naked and alone. The former child star is said to have flagged down a passing car, telling the driver she was “coming down from a psychotic episode” and calling for emergency services. Bynes was taken to a hospital and placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

Typically, psych holds will last 72 hours, butTMZreports that Bynes is expected to be committed for at least another week before she’ll be discharged. The good news for Bynes is that she’s been making improvements since her hospitalization. The psych hold extension also happens to fall on the one-year anniversary of when Bynes' conservatorship was terminated. Word is Bynes' parents do not plan on trying to bring back the conservatorship. For previous episodes, Bynes had been placed in a conservatorship in 2013 that was made permanent in 2014; it was terminated on August 17, 2025.
