Avowed,one of the most anticipated Xbox exclusives of the year, has delayed its release date until early next year. Although the title did not have a set release date, developer Obsidian has leaked that instead of November 12, the game will be released on August 22, 2025, something that Xbox itself has confirmed on social media.
Avowed Confirms a New Release Date
One of the reasons for the delay, as leaked, is due to the high number of games being released in the coming months, a situation similar to what happened in 2024. However, it’s worth noting that most of these Xbox releases are available on Game Pass.

Following this move, the exclusive Xbox games for the end of the year are: Age of Mythology Retold (September 4), Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (November 19), Towerborne (date to be confirmed), and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (date to be confirmed).
Xbox, The Star of Gamescom 2024
Microsoft announced Xbox’s plans for Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany, where it will showcase more than 50 games, including titles from Xbox Games Studios and third-party companies.
Attendees will get exclusive access to games like Age of Mythology: Retold, Ara: History Untold,Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred,Fallout 76: Milepost Zero,The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, and Towerborne. In addition to the presentation of Avowed, there will be Indiana Jones and the Great Circle andStarfield: Shattered Space. Additionally, there will be special Blizzard events featuring Diablo IV and an immersive World of Warcraft experience.
