Blue Prince: How to Unlock Blackrock Grotto
How to solve the puzzle in the Boiler Room and Laboratory, unlocking a new upgrade.
There’s already one microchip sitting on the podium when you find it, but there are two more microchips waiting to be found somewhere on the property of Mt. Holly.
Purchase A New Clue
First, you’ll need to find the location of the two microchips, which can be found inside the library bookA New Clue. This book can only be purchased from theBookshop, which in turn can only be drafted from inside the Library.
The book costs 50 gold coins, and once it has been purchased you’re able to request it to be delivered to the Library the next day.
Find the First Microchip
If you follow the clues found in the book, you’ll be directed to a spot under a bridge. This refers to thebridge on the West Gate Path.
Find a shovel and head over to the bridge to the Outer Room. Before crossing it, look down at the ground directly to the right (the north side) of the small bridge and interact with it. This will dig up the Microchip.
Find the Third Microchip
The third Microchip requires you to have a sledgehammer in your inventory. Head to the entrance hall and look for thetwo vaseson either side of the room. you’re able to interact with them to smash them with the sledgehammer, leaving the microchip inside on the floor.
Take both microchips and return to the Blackbridge Grotto, inserting them into thepodium in the middle of the room. This will unlock the circular door, revealing a path up to the top of the mountain. Go up, grab the new room plan at the top, and head back to the Grotto.
Unlock the Satellite Dish
Leave the microchips in the Grotto until a day that you obtain theBurning Glass or Torch, then retrieve all three microchips and head to the apple orchard. In the far corner of the orchard, there’s agreen sundialthat you can use the Burning Glass on (aim at the base/pillar below it). This will leave two scorch marks on two of the circles on the base of the podium.
Interact with the circles to rotate them, moving them into theposition pictured above. The sundial will then lift, revealing a second set of three microchip slots. Insert the chips to initiate a cutscene, unlocking theSatellite Dish, which allows you to access communications with the outside world via terminal.
