Dead by Daylightis no stranger to licensed crossovers, and now Alan Wake is the latest survivor to be added to the game. Trading one Dark Place for another, Alan Wake has some unique perks to help him survive the game’s sinister killers.
Alan Wake will officially join Dead by Daylight onJanuary 30. If you play Dead by Daylight on PC, then you’re able to play as Alan Wake right now on the Public Test Build. Alan Wake’s abilities and other tweaks will be tested by PC players ahead of their official launch on January 30 to ensure that the official release is smooth and balanced. When Alan Wake is released,he’ll be priced at $10like most other Dead by Daylight survivors.
Alan Wake has three perks that will help him survive the fog. His first perk isChampion of Light, which activates when he’s holding a flashlight (how fitting). With a flashlight in hand, Alan Wake gains 50% Haste. Blinding a killer will make them 20% Hindered for six seconds. This perk has a cooldown of 80/70/60 seconds.
Alan Wake’s second perk is a Boon calledIllumination. He can bless Dull or Hex Totems to create a Boon Totem with a range of 24 meters. While inside the affected area, all survivors can see the aura of chests and generators highlighted in blue. If a boon totem is lit, Alan Wake will also cleanse and bless totems 6/8/10% faster.
Finally, Alan Wake’s last perk is calledDeadlineand it activates when he’s injured. Skill Checks will appear 6/8/10% more frequently when repairing or healing, and the penalty for missing skill checks will be reduced by 50%. This will give Alan Wake an extra layer of survivability when things are dire.

Alongside the introduction of Alan Wake, the next Dead by Daylight update also features changes for The Hillbilly and The Onryo plus several tweaks to existing perks and maps.
