Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off with a special event at the Apple Park building, with eligible developers and students now able to request to attend.
Apple’s WWDC22 special event submissions are now open
So what’s this about? An announcement on theApple Developer websitecalls the event an all-day experience that’ll gather developers and students to watch the WWDC22 keynote and Platforms State of the Union videos at the Apple Park headquarters alongside Apple engineers and experts. To submit your request, visitdeveloper.apple.com/wwdc22/special-day/in your browser and click the blue “Submit request” button to get started, then follow onscreen instructions.

Attending this event is free and open to members of the Apple Developer Program and Apple Developer Enterprise Program, and 2022 Swift Student Challenge applicants. Invitations will be allocated through a random selection process and are non-transferrable.
So who can attend? Members of the Apple Developer Program and Apple Developer Enterprise Program, as well as the 2022 Swift Student Challenge applicants, can submit their request to be included in the random selection process starting today until May 11 at 9 a.m. PT. You’ll need to follow Apple’s health and safety protocols
If you’re selected, you’ll hang out with Apple engineers, developers, enthusiasts and other like-minded people at Apple’s massive ring-shaped building. That also means following the company’s health and safety protocols regarding COVID-19, which entails bringing proof of a negative COVID-19 test no more than three days before the event. Masks, Apple says, are “currently optional.” Apple will fill you in with additional details concerning the latest COVID requirements prior to the event.
WWDC 2022 kicks off with a keynoteon Monday, June 6. The software-focused event will bring previews of Apple’s next major platform updates including iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 12.4, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16. The public will be able to follow the keynote and watch other WWDC22 videos on Apple’s website, via the company’s YouTube channel and through the official Apple Developer app. [App Store link]
