Daniel Craig Hurt His Knee While Fighting Dave Bautista
It could be referred to as the widely recognized meniscus tear incident. During the filming ofSpectreon the British set,Daniel Craigsustained a knee injury while participating in a vigorous fight scene. This unfortunate accident led to the temporary suspension of production for the 24th James Bond installment, as the British actor underwent arthroscopic surgery.
Almost immediately, the film industry was consumed with concern: Would the postponement potentially lead to a delay in the film’s planned release date on November 6? What would be the financial repercussions of Spectre’s extended production? And to what extent had the star truly been injured?
Daniel Craig mentioned that the injury could have occurred to him as he was stepping out of the shower. He described it as one of those situations where he struck it at an awkward angle, and as a result, it happened unexpectedly.
“It could have happened to me getting out the shower. It’s one of those injuries,”Craig said.“I hit it at the wrong angle and it just went.”

Daniel Craig Is No Stranger To Such Injuries
Certainly, Craig is well-acquainted with the demanding physical demands of portraying James Bond, having previously featured in three 007 films. During the filming ofQuantum of Solaceback in 2008, the actor endured the rigors of the role, experiencing a torn rotator cuff at one juncture and even an incident where he accidentally severed the tip of his finger.
“I’ve injured myself many times,”says Craig.“My fear was, if I had a proper surgery on it, it would stop filming for a long time. The amazing thing was, it didn’t need it. It slowed me down. I couldn’t run without pounding pain. So I took two weeks off, had the surgery and got back to work.”
However, when production recommenced, the reshoots for that particular fight sequence led to an increase in on-screen bloodshed.
