InLike a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, Goro Majima may have a reputation for being dangerously unhinged, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a soft spot for animals. Not long after venturing into the village on Rich Island, he comes into possession of an animal. It is a chicken, and would have had a very bad day without Majima’s intervention.
This incident inspires him to create an animal sanctuary, which could potentially become a home to several more animals. After Majima opens Goro Kingdom, there are several additional animals that are waiting to find their forever home, and this guide will explain how to get each one of them.

Review: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Waking up marooned on a tropical island with no memory of who he is, Goro Majima does the only sensible thing. He becomes a pirate captain.
Having animals offers a few benefits to Captain Majima. Aside from the fact that animals are cute and collecting things in games is fun, they offer other practical benefits to Majima. Whenever Majima feeds them, they will return the favor by giving him ingredients that he can use to prepare food in Goro Goro Kitchen. After he feeds them enough to increase their affection level, they will become available as crew members that can use support abilities whenever Majima’s crew invades an enemy ship. Allure, for example, can boost the attacks of everyone on the ship. Other animals have benefits for defense and healing.

This chicken is story related and can’t be missed. To show thanks for Majima’s help in the village, Stella offers Phoenix as a reward to Majima, where Phoenix would meet her fate by becoming meat. Majima can’t watch the bird die, so he suggests that instead of turning her into fried chicken, he takes her in and uses her as a source of eggs. The request is granted, Phoenix lives, and Majima doesn’t have to pay exorbitant egg prices. A win-win situation. And since he is already at Stella’s shop, now isn’t a bad time to stock up on some pet food.
While exploring District Five in Hawaii, Noah encounters a cat that looks hungry in the substory, The Kitten in District Five. He gives the cat some food, but a person steals the food from the cat. Majima can’t stand to see Noah’s good deed turn bad, so he starts to confront the individual. If that wasn’t bad enough, the person who stole the food kicks the cat. Majima and Noah witness this, and a satisfactory end to the story is in sight. Majima gives the scumbag what for after he abuses the helpless animal, and the cat is given a new home in Goro Kingdom.

The mischievous chimpanzee has climbed a tree and refuses to go down. Majima has a few options to get the chimp to come down, but it really doesn’t matter what order he tries them. Go through each option, enjoy the comedic failures of each, and then CoCo will come down and go over the Goro Kingdom. Luckily for Majima, CoCo is less of a troublemaker over at Goro Kingdom.
This poor fourth grade nothing is discovered when Majima sees some lowlifes entertaining themselves by kicking a defenseless dog. Like all good-hearted people, Majima doesn’t take kindly to animal abusers. He gives these jerks a thrashing, and offers the poor pooch a new home in Goro Kingdom, albeit with an interesting name choice, though still better than Fudge.

Majima encounters a person trying to catch a dog with no luck. The dog keeps running away so Majima tries to help him, which seems to be something he can’t help himself from doing. After the dog runs away from them, Majima needs to approach the dog, and when given the prompt, chose to approach the dog slowly. Majima approached the dog. The dog responds positively to Majima and everyone agrees that Zoomies should zoom over to Goro Kingdom.
Review: Like A Dragon: Ishin!
Like A Dragon: Ishin! fuses familiar traits with a delightfully-versatile combat system to great effect.
Only in a Like a Dragon game will you find someone standing in a random park asking if anyone needs a cow. At least you know the person is telling the truth about having to unload a cow, due to the cow being present. Approach this person, fork over $3000 and now Majima has a cow, man.

This poor abandoned dog was discovered by someone who wanted to give the dog pet food. Pet food is cheap and available in many places. Talk to her and the dog is yours.
Alarm Cluck
Someone is not happy with the resident neighborhood rooster. Talk to him and take the rooster off his hands. Don’t ask why the food item provided by the rooster is eggs.
The Gourmand
Someone is trying to care for a dog on the street but states the dog will only eat wild caught sashimi. The obvious solution is to go to a sushi takeout place, get some wild caught sashimi and feed the dog. Seems easy enough, but unfortunately that is not the answer. The stuff the stores sell just isn’t fresh enough. Instead, go to the beach and swim in the ocean.
A prompt to CATCH will appear over nearby fish as Majima swims. Keep catching fish until wild caught sashimi is acquired. Go back to the dog, feed the Gourmand, and he will head over to Goro Kingdom. Upon his arrival, his palette will instantly become less refined, and he can be fed regular pet food and snacks.
Majima encounters an abandoned cat. The person nearby informs Majima the cat is used to being around the hostess of a cabaret club, which is something Majima probably doesn’t remember being very familiar with. In order to get the cat’s attention, Majima needs to get all glammed up like a hostess. Nothing he has in his wardrobe fits the bill, and there are no stores nearby that will sell anything appropriate either.
The solution lies in a silver treasure box near Liber Tea. Find the treasure box, don the full Goromi outfit: make-up, wig, dress, fishnets, heels, earrings, and go to the cat. Glammed up hostess Majima might not be his most attractive look, but it gets another cat to Goro Kingdom.
Now that Majima has his own animal kingdom, he can feed them at his leisure, collecting more cooking ingredients and earning enough of their affection to assist him in battle.
