Shadowheart is a wonderful companion to have in Baldur’s Gate 3, and you shouldn’t ignore her personal questline. Daughter of Darkness begins as soon as you allow her into your party, and it will run all the way into Act 3. There are many steps to this quest, and it can get confusing when trying to figure out how to make it to the very end. I’ll explain how you can complete the Daughter of Darkness questline in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3): How to finish Shadowheart’s Daughter of Darkness quest
At first meeting in the Nautiloid, you should definitely try to helprescue Shadowheartfrom the pod. After the crash, you can find her on the beach you landed on, and ask her to join you. During this time, Shadowheart will be quite closed off, and she won’t appreciate you trying to pry. There are some important steps to take during this Act to progress the Daughter of Darkness quest.
Act 2 in the Shadow-Cursed Lands is very important for Shadowheart’s story, and by the end, it can diverge into two completely different paths. While this huge decision mainly rests on a dice roll, it’s important to take some of these steps to fully progress Daughter of Darkness.

In my opinion, saving Nightsong is the best option for Shadowheart, but it’s really up to you. You gain the best outcomes by saving her, but if you want Shadowheart to head down a darker path, let her become a Dark Justiciar.
