As you travel across Hyrule, you’ll likely see massive dragons stretched across the sky. These legendary monsters are passive creatures who spend all their time patrolling and can’t be killed. But that doesn’t mean you’re able to’t get some precious resources off them. Here’s how to get Dragon Parts in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Obtain Dragon Parts in Tears of the Kingdom
As you travel Hyrule or even the Great Sky Island, you’ve likely seen the majestic dragons stretching across the sky. But there are only four of these majestic beasts. Farosh, the lightning spirit, Dinraal, the fire spirit, Naydra, the ice spirit, and the Light Dragon.
Each of these dragons patrol their own territory and have their own resources to give:
Scales can be obtained by hitting the dragon’s body, Shards can be taken from around the ridges on the dragon’s back, Claws can be gotten by hitting the dragon’s claws, and Horns can be obtained by hitting the dragon’s horn. Note that you can only get a horn or claw once per interaction with the dragon.
But to get these parts, you’ll need some luck.
The easiest and most optimized way I’ve found to harvest dragon parts (which sounds awful), is to land on them. If you opt to try and land on them, there’s two ways to do it.
I argue for the landing on it method because it’s much, much easier to grab a dragon horn if you’re right on top of it. Just hit the horn with your weapon, then spam “a”. Likewise, you’ll sometimes see multiple shards stretching along the dragon’s back, which you can pluck like it’s your own personal dragon shard orchard.
What’s less easy is obtaining scales and claws. For that, you’ll have toshootthe dragon.
Position yourself on a mountain or ridge that the dragon will swing close by, then shoot it. If you feel like you’ll miss (because you suck at shooting things like I do), slap a Keese eyeball onto that arrow to give you extra accuracy. Doing this will cause a scale or, if you’re accurate, a claw to fall.
But it’s also possible to shoot the claw from the dragon’s back, which goes right back to my point that landing on a dragon is always better.
