A woman recently blew up theTekkencommunity by explaining how her father named her, and her two siblings after characters from the beloved series.

Jin and Hwoarang Win Stance Tekken 7

A user on TikTok named Ninaeyu recently came out and explained that her father is an old-time fan of the revealed fighting game seriesTekken. With the recent release ofTekken 8,Nina goes on to explain her father was a big fan of the game series, even playing in tournaments. She goes on to say“I feel like if he was my age today, he would have been a gaming streamer.”

Tekken Fans May be the Most Loyal of Any Fighting Franchise

Nina was named after the popular character, Nina Williams. Nina Williams, known as a“cold-blooded assassin”made her first appearance in the original 1994Tekkengame. She is one of three playable characters that has appeared in everyTekkeninstallment to date.

Nina’s younger brother was named after another, maybe even more famous character. Jin Kazama, or Jin. ManyTekkenfans claim that Jin is the hero or protagonist of the series. Making his first appearance in the 1997 Arcade version ofTekken 3,as well as the 1998 PlayStation version. Jin was an interesting character starting out, a mixed-move set of Jun Kazama and Kazuya Mishima. He was quickly a fan favorite. Jin eventually went on to win the third ‘King of Iron Fist’ tournament by defeating Ogre, also known as True Ogre in the last phase of the battle.

Tekken 8 looks absolutely stunning and plays even greater.

Nina and Jin’s final, and youngest brother, was also named after aTekkenfavorite. Hwoarang, a Taekwondo student from Korea, joined the series at the same time as Jin, inTekken 3.Ironically, unlike these two brothers being named after these characters, the in-game Jin and Hwoarang, were tense rivals. There are many times in the storyline ofTekken, that these two get into it.

Even once so to the point, Hwoarang indirectly lost his eye because of Jin. The history between these two in-game is complicated, but that doesn’t mean the reality of these brothers is nearly as intense as the virtual versions.
