Back in January, just a few months before the premiere of a movie then known asThe Cellar, Paramount released the first trailer revealing a new title,10 Cloverfield Lane. It was later confirmed that, while it isn’t a direct sequel to Bad Robot’s 2008 surprise hitCloverfield, it is set in the same universe as the original, which was produced byJ.J. Abrams' production company Bad Robot. Today we have word that another Bad Robot production,God Particle, is in fact the third entry in theCloverfieldmovie universe.
The Wrapreports thatJ.J. Abramsand Paramount are “quietly developing” even more movies to form what would be aCloverfieldshared universe. Both Paramount and Bad Robot are hoping to release a newCloverfieldmovie every year, seemingly borrowing the same tactic as LucasFilm, which has stated in the past that they plan on releasing a newStar Warsmovie every year, indefinitely. Both Paramount and Bad Robot did not comment on the report.

AbramsandLindsey Weberserve as producers, with Paramount setting a August 10, 2025 release date. The movie will go up against Universal’s horror-thrillerGet Out, Open Road Films' crime dramaSleeplessand Lionsgate’s animated movieRock Dog.
The first footage fromGod Particleis expected to be unveiled during a Paramount event today, where studio presidentBrad Greywill present highlights from their upcoming slate. A similar event is scheduled for November 2 in Los Angeles. However, no official announcement about the movie’s tie-in to theCloverfield universeis expected.J.J. Abramshad teased in February that a thirdCloverfieldmovie was already in the works and, if this report is to be believed, it seems that project will beGod Particle.
