Mausoleum Catacombs - 1F

From the Catacombs Entrance, enter the dungeon and go downstairs. Keep going straight and ignore the other rooms visible on your mini-map at first.Reach the location where you previously defeated Undead Grius, and you’ll see the Paripus Woman standing in the center.

Interact with the Paripus Woman, and she will give you aside quest, “A Friend in Need”. After that, move forward and take the stairs leading to the Prayer Chamber door entrance.

Prayer Chamber 1F - West Section

Your party will start on the west side of the map. Head straight east and get the item near the Magla Hollow Safe Room. Enter the safe room and save your current progress.

Return outside to clear the first floor of enemies such as Watchdog Hundos (Weak to Fire and Ice), Mad Watchdog Hundos (Weak to Fire and Ice), and Blue Elmentas (Weak to Fire). Then, pick up the glowing item behind the statue. After that, take the stairs and reach the next upper floor.

Use the Protagonist’s Fae Sight mechanic to quickly identify and assess enemy levels within the surroundings. It will also help you determine whether the visible foes are currently unknown or stronger than your party.

Prayer Chamber 2F - Balcony Section

On the upper floor, keep going east and reach the balcony overlooking the main hall below. Listen to the two Guard Soldiers discussing hostages below. After the cutscene, approach the door and acquire the blue item on the floor. Examine the locked door and speak to the hostages. You will need a door key to set them free from captivity.

Prayer Chamber 1F - Guard Soldier Room

Go downstairs and clear the section of enemies. Then, enter the open doorway and see the Guard Soldier taking a nap before attempting to get the target key. Get the item from the floor and open the treasure chest nearby. Return to the Guard Soldier’s room and take the Chamber Side Room Key on the small table.

Prayer Chamber 2F - Chamber Side Room

Return to the left balcony and use the Chamber Side Room Key to open the locked door. The Papirus Woman will appear and formally introduce herself as Catherina, a bounty hunter. This cutscene will automatically clear the “A Friend in Need” side quest, and unlock her new bond with the Protagonist (Catherina Rank 1). In addition, the Brawler Archetype will become available to study through More’s Akademia.

Before leaving the room, open the treasure chest near you. After that, examine the Plateau’s Mirage to save your game. You can also visit More to inherit new skills from Strohl and Hulkenberg. At this point, you have already gathered enough Mag to learnLight skills, such as Hama from the Healer Archetype.

Prayer Chamber B1F

Leave the room and proceed downward to the basement floor of the Prayer Chamber.Eliminate the surrounding enemies in the area, such as War Wulhas (Weak to Fire and Ice) and Louisian Mage Soldiers (Weak to Pierce). Then, get the items from the east bench and south rubble. Proceed to the crossing above and inspect the shining object near the flower section. Next, go to the northeast corner of the map and examine the floor item there. After that, head north to the lift section. Watch the short cutscene and take the stairs to transfer to the Servant’s Chamber.

Make it a habit to double-check your party’s equipped weapons whenever you obtain a new Archetype weapon or switch between Archetypes.

Servant’s Chamber 1F

Take control of the Protagonist and go south to see another Magla Hollow save point. Once yourunlocked Archetypesand in-game progress have both been saved, proceed south to the treasure chest that is on display in the central section of the map. View your full map, and there will be three sections labeled with objective markers. While exploring the sections, there will be Morneto zombie (Weak to Fire and Light), Malmorta skeleton (Weak to Strike and Light), and Homo Oppo (Weak to Strike) enemies you will encounter along the way.

Avoid fighting against Homo Oppos if you are less than Level 15. Otherwise, if you are confident, you can lower its defense with Rakunda and use Strike skills to exploit its weakness in battle.

Servant’s Chamber 1F - East Section

Move east and reach the room with the objective marker. Check the target east room and see that the room is blocked and inaccessible. Before turning around in the east section, get the items from the ground and the open room northwest of the blocked room.

Enter the opposite room and get another item inside. Speak to the weak Dying Monk and crawl through the small tunnel connecting to the blocked east room. Examine the dead soldier and get a key (Guest Room Key x1). Crawl back to the previous room and get the other items from the other open rooms.

Servant’s Chamber 1F - West Section

Go counterclockwise and proceed southwest to reach the marked west room. Pass by the target center room and pick another item along the way. Go north and you will encounter the first Trance Crystal. These crystals will continuously summon skeleton enemies as long as they are active. Apart from summoning, these crystals can deal AoE damage to your party when you get close to them. There’s a nice chance to take advantage of these crystals and farm them for bonus experience in order tolevel up your Archetypes, if you choose.

If you want to increase the level of your party members, you’re able to keep the Trance Crystals for a while. Then, lure out the skeletons to farm them for additional EXP, A-EXP, MAG, and Reeve. Once you get low experience from summoned enemies, destroy the crystals.

After getting the shining items nearby, follow the path turning west and encounter the second Trance Crystal. Feel free to either destroy the crystal or farm experience again. After that, pick another item near the crystal and move south.

Enter the target west room and talk to the Traumatised Soldier. After a brief cutscene, we receive another key (Altar Chamber Key x1). This key is necessary to gain access to the next section. Before you leave, examine the shining item inside. Then, head outside and go north to pick up more items.

Servant’s Chamber 1F - Central Section

Head to the south section of the map and return to the center room you passed by earlier.Use the Guest Room Key to unlock the door and defeat five zombie enemies. Defeat the enemies by using Fire or Light skills (multi-target Physical skills can also work). After the battle, speak to the Pale Monk to receive another key (Treasure Chest Key x1). Make your way back to the center section near the Magla Hollow. Use the treasure key to unlock the locked chest and obtain a key item (Sanctified Amulet x1). Go to the west marked location and proceed to the next section.

The Sanctified Amulet is not usable right now, but it will be essential later in this dungeon.

Altar Chamber 1F

Once you unlock the door, approach the Plateau’s Mirage and update your progress and Archetype skills. After that, you canreplenish your MPby defeating skeleton enemies from the Trance Crystals if you wish.

If you run out of MP, equip the Mage Archetype to the Protagonist and revisit the Prayer Chamber and Servant’s Chamber levels to replenish your party’s MP levels. This will help you maintain your supply of Magla Pills and Magla Potions.

Examine the shining objects nearby and enter the next doorway. Move straight to the crates for another item and follow the southwest stairs. Reach the dead end of the stairs first to get another item and make your way back to the path leading to the storage section.

The storage section path is straightforward to follow, so proceed and take the item in front of you. Turn right and inspect another shining object. Before climbing up north, there is a secret path on your left: Crawl through the small opening and reach the enclosed storage section.Get all the available items and open the chest, then leave the section and proceed to the next one.

In the next section, obtain all the items nearby. Before leaving, there is also another treasure chest located slightly north that you should claim. Move northwest and follow the stairs leading southwest. After acquiring the remaining items on this side, you can take the stairs leading to the next floor.

Altar Chamber 2F

On this floor, go southwest and follow the pathway leading northeast. Enter the small storage section, get the items, and proceed to the Plateau’s Mirage.Make sure to save your current progress before your first mini-boss battle!

For the first mini-boss, equip the Healer or Mage Archetype to the Protagonist, Brawler Archetype to Strohl, and Knight Archetype to Hulkenberg. Then, inherit Hama for all party members. In terms of Synthesis skills, unlock Energy Ray, Jump Thrust, and Hammer of Justice. All party members should be at least level 12 or higher.

Louisian Mage Captain Mini-Boss Fight

The Louisian Mage Captain will continue to use buff and debuff skills while there are active skeleton enemies. To minimize the use of these pesky support skills, you must defeat these minions first. It’s advised to concentrate on Cursewight Magileto to begin with, because of its high HP and damaging skills. Then, take out the remaining skeleton minions one by one.

Use Light skills like Hama or Synthesis skills like Energy Ray to finish them off, and if you run out of MP, Strike skills such as Perfect Punch are a great fall back option.

Damage the Louisian Mage Captain with Pierce skills such as Jump Thrust and Hammer of Justice. Start with the Jump Thrust first to inflict a defense debuff followed by Hammer of Justice. You can keep a skeleton minion alive with low HP to deceive the Louisian Mage Captain into using Support skills for the remaining battle.

Use HP, MP, and Status Recovery items occasionally if needed. If you finally take down the Louisian Mage Captain, finish off the remaining skeleton.

You’ll receive a Glow Igniter exchange item after clearing the battle. After that, enter the nearby Magla Hollow to save your progress. When you’re ready, enter the next room and go east to reach the second floor of the Reception Chamber.

Before entering the Reception Chamber floors, switch the Protagonist from Mage or Healer to the Seeker Archetype to gain Wind skills such as Cyc and Support skills such as Tarukaja. Let Strohl and Hulkenberg remain with their respective Archetypes, but they should inherit Cyc skills as well. In addition, assign the Mage Fire accessory to Strohl and the Mage Wind accessory to Hulkenberg to gain additional skills in different elements. A versatile party is key throughout Metaphor: ReFantazio!

Reception Chamber 2F - Northwest Section

Start from the west section of the map and make your way down to the first floor. Follow the pathway leading north while facing new and returning enemies on this map.Enemies include the Louisian Mage Captain (Weak to Pierce), Louisian Spear Captain (Weak to Fire), and the Lifewrought Gargoz (Weak to Strike and Wind).

Reception Chamber 1F - North Section

On the first floor, go northeast to find the next lift currently inaccessible. After the cutscene, go southeast and use the ladder to go upstairs. Don’t forget to claim all items available on this map before proceeding to the next area.

Reception Chamber 2F - East and Southwest Section

After the cutscene, enter the nearby open door to acquire an item. After that, head northeast while clearing enemies and picking up items along the way. Follow the direction leading south and reach a statue with large arms serving as a makeshift bridge, which you may cross to reach the southwest section of the second floor.

Reception Chamber 1F - West Section

From the southwest section, use the ladder to descend to the first floor and unlock the door in the middle of the map. After that, take the stairs and move downward again. This leads you to the basement floor.

Reception Chamber B1F - West Section

On the basement floor, there is a Magla Hollow nearby. Save your game and press forward.Go down and see new enemies called Spektos (Weak to Light). You can either ignore or engage with these enemies, before entering the worship hall.

Ignoring these normal Spekto enemies will help your party preserve your MP levels, especially if you are under level 15. Save your MP supply for a boss fight!

Reception Chamber B1F - East Worship Hall

Inside the worship hall, approach the large statue in the south and use the Sanctified Amulet you got earlier.Using the amulet will make the large statue lower its arms to connect to the first floor.

Before you engage the second mini-boss, make sure to return to the first floor and cross the arm bridge to get new equipment from treasure chests. If you haven’t fully explored the reception chamber, take this time to clear the map and get all the remaining items and treasure chests available. After that, return to the worship hall and prepare for the second mini-boss battle!

For the second mini-boss, attach the Healer Archetypes to all party members. Inheriting Bot, a Fire skill, or other Support skills are optional in this battle. Before you engage, ensure you can also gain access to Mahama Synthesis skill. It is advisable that all party members are at least level 13 or higher.

Spektos Mini-Boss Fight

These mini-bosses will use Wind skills like Cyc or Gacyc to attack. They also reflect Physical attacks and skills (Slash, Pierce, and Strike).

Unless you have access to multi-target abilities, focus on eliminating one Spekto foe at a time using Light skills. If you have two party members equipped with the Healer Archetype, you can gain access to Mahama, which is ideal for this battle as a multi-target Light Synthesis skill.

You can also use Energy Ray Synthesis skill if you have another party member equipped with a Brawler Archetype.

verify that all party members have more than half their HP during the combat:One Spekto may use its Last Resort talent to destroy itself, inflicting 100 HP damage on each of your party members. They also cast Hex status effects via Curse Chant on your group, so stockpile Status Recovery items. Keep in mind that if there are two or fewer Spektos on the battlefield, the remaining ones will multiply, so finish this battle as quickly as you can.

Once the second mini-boss battle concludes, transfer quickly to the first floor. Approach the nearby Plateau’s Mirage to update your Archetype setup and progress. Get ready to face the third mini-boss immediately!

For the third mini-boss, equip the Mage Archetype to the Protagonist, Seeker or Brawler Archetype to Strohl, and the Knight Archetype to Hulkenberg. Let the Protagonist inherit Tarukaja while Strohl and Hulkenberg acquire Blizz. This setup will grant you access to the Gablizz, Jump Thrust, or Hammer of Justice Synthesis skills. It is suggested that your party should be level 14 or higher before this encounter.

This mini-boss encounter consists of one Louisian Mage Captain and two Louisian Sword Captains.Similarly to the first mini-boss fight, the Louisian Mage Captain will continuously cast buffs and a debuff while there are Louisian Sword Captains active in combat,so focus on your offense to eliminate the Louisian Sword Captains first using Blizz skills. The easiest way to do this is to take out one at a time, unless you have Gablizz.

Alternatively, keep one Louisian Sword Captain alive with low HP as before, thereby increasing the boss’s use of largely harmless support skills.Meanwhile, buff your main damage dealer with Tarukaja and use Strike skills to damage the main target. Jump Thrust and Hammer of Justice are excellent tools with which to finish off this fierce foe.

After defeating the third mini-boss, return to the Plateau’s Mirage to save your game. Then, take the lift and transfer to the Royal Portrait Hall.

The next enemies you will encounter will range between levels 15 to 20. It is better to avoid facing them if you are level 15 or below. You can farm the weaker enemies for MP recovery, but be wary about provoking higher-level enemies in the process.

Royal Portrait Hall 1F

From the lift, head south to get the item nearby. Then, move west and watch the cutscene.During the conversation, pick the following dialogue choices to pass through Zorba:

This will make your party continue north to reach the next floor. Again, it’s most practical to ignore the enemies in the surrounding area, including Homo Fulquilo (Weak to Wind and Light).

Royal Portrait Hall 2F

On the second floor, continue going east to reach the Magla Hollow. Save your game if you want to and go south to see a group of soldiers. You can run around them to avoid a confrontation and to conserve your MP. Keep going upwards to reach the next floor.

When you reach the Heavenly Staircase, continue going upwards and reach the end of the pathway. There’s a Plateau’s Mirage before the main boss area that you can use to update your progress.

For the main boss, Zorba, you can attach the Healer or Mage Archetype to the Protagonist, the Brawler Archetype to Strohl, and the Knight Archetype to Hulkenberg. Then, inherit Dei or Tarukaja for the Protagonist, Dei or Hama for Strohl, and Bot or Hama for Hulkenberg. If you have the Mage Fire accessory, equip it to Strohl. Having these Archetypes together in a party will unlock the Energy Ray, Jump Thrust, and Hammer of Justice Synthesis skills. At level 15 or so, your team will face a stiff contest, but should be able to prevail.

Zorba Main Boss Fight

You will face Zorba alone at the beginning of the boss battle. The boss has no signature weakness, so start the battle by commanding the Protagonist to cast Tarukaja into your other allies. In my case, Strohl is my main damage dealer, so my damage increase buff goes to him first. Then, Hulkenberg is second since she is my hybrid Sub DPS and debuff support party member. Let Hulkenberg’s turn go next through a press turn and let her deal a Jump Thrust to Zorba to inflict a defense down effect.

Let Strohl deal Perfect Punch or Energy Ray directly to Zorba while Hulkenberg switches between Jump Thrust and Hammer of Justice. Make the Protagonist continually cast Tarukaja from time to time and heal the party using Dei or HP recovery items. This is my skill rotation for this boss battle.

Once Zorba starts to summon Corpsethralls, which are vulnerable to Fire and Light, adjust your rotation by eliminating his undead minions first. You also use Jump Thrust against them to cut their defense. Do not let Zorba’s Corpsethralls build up in number on the battlefield, because he can cast Madness Curse to buff their Physical attacks.

Using Mage Fire is an alternative to focusing on Strohl, and you can also command Hulkenberg to use Hama from time to time. Regardless of this, your priority in this phase is to target the weaknesses of the enemies to earn extra turns.

Zorba will eventually stop summoning undead minions, so focus your offense on him when he does. If his HP is low, you can start to ignore some minions and finish off the main boss directly.Perfect Punch and Energy Ray are very helpful in doing so, but make sure to sustain Strohl’s HP since the skill is reliant on it.Hulkenberg, meanwhile, can keep on switching between Jump Thrust and Hammer of Justice.

After the cutscene, your party’s HP and MP will be replenished. Then, the Necromancer Takedown Operation Quest will be completed. You will automatically be assigned to the third Operation Quest, Thwart Zorba’s Plan. Onward to the next stage of this grand adventure!
