DLCs Confirmed for Monster Hunter Wilds

Of course, it’s not all about monsters. There will also be elements designed to keep players engaged, even if they are hunting the same creatures—though these additions are certainly eye-catching.

First, Capcom’s roadmap includes a launch update for the PS5 Pro, which will add ray tracing support to this version of the game.

Additionally, the game will feature the usual free events and cosmetic DLCs, often collaborations with other Capcom titles or even franchises outside the company.

Previous games have included layered armor sets (cosmetic skins that overlay existing armor without changing its stats or skills) inspired by characters like Dante from Devil May Cry, Sakura and Ryu from Street Fighter, Mega Man, and even The Witcher.

Mizutsune, Events, and More

As for the massive creatures, Capcom has confirmed the return of Mizutsune, a monster that first appeared in Monster Hunter Generations (Nintendo 3DS, 2016) and was last seen in Rise. Its name comes from the Japanese words for “fox” and “water,” which perfectly describe the creature.

Mizutsune belongs to the Leviathan category, meaning that fighting it in aquatic environments could give it a significant advantage. Since its Wilds version has yet to be revealed, we don’t know if there will be any special changes to this familiar beast.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Just as a reminder, as mentioned above, these DLCs are completely free. The Monster Hunter series has a history of receiving substantial free content updates from Capcom, followed later by a massive paid expansion. However, no such expansion has been officially announced for Wilds yet.
