Capcom continues its excellent post-release support forMonster Hunter Wilds, as the developers are set to release an upcoming hotfix on March 10.

While the hotfix includes many gameplay fixes, one fix aims to remove an exploit that makes monster fights much easier: the floating rubble, or what some players call the “tactical nuke” exploit.

Monster Hunter Wilds Hotfix Removes Floating Rubble Tactical Nuke Exploit

Infinite Falling Rocks To Defeat Monsters Won’t Work Anymore

For those unfamiliar with the tactic, like in past Monster Hunter games, players can use the environment to their advantage to fight off monsters. In Monster Hunter Wilds, players can use their grapple hook to drop some of these hazards on top of monsters for a good chunk of damage. While that’s fine and something players are used to, there’s a bug in the game where specific hazards continue to drop repeatedly when dropped by players.

If you can lure a monster into the area and trigger this tactic, you can slam an endless pile of rubble on its noggin, knocking it insanely fast. While this might benefit players, especially if you’re up against a beast who’s endlessly carting you, this is clearly not how Capcom envisioned enemy counters to unfold.

Capcom’snote for it is in the changelog:

Players abusing this exploit have a few days left, as Capcom is rolling out the patch on March 10 (Monday).

Outside of the floating rubbles exploit, the patch includes other essential fixes, including a fix for a progression blocker on Chapter 5-1 and one that forces the game to shut down.

While a hotfix is being issued, this won’t solve every bug plaguing players. Capcom has also outlined a few known issues that weren’t able to be patched in time for Monday’s hotfix. Issues such as your Palico’s attack with blunt weapons not applying stun and exhaust damages or the SOS flare bug that causes a network error aren’t part of the fixes. Given that Capcom is aware of these, expect them to be part of the next patch whenever that’s released.
