Nier: Automata-Final Fantasy
This tidbit of info surfaced from an interview WOW Japan conducted withNier: Automata’s Producer Yosuke Saito and Director Yoko Taro at the2017 GameStartevent.
In the interview, they were asked in regards to how most of the characters featured in their games were outcasts. Yoko Taro then answers that though he “do[es] not understand outcasts” himself. He stars the archetype because of just how “Everybody is a little bit strange,” and is inspired with “the uniqueness and strangeness of all these individuals.”

He sources stem from “the opinions of friends who belong to these minority groups, and [to] get some inspiration from the struggle that they face.” To which Producer Saito replies: “I’m actually rather interested to see if Yoko-san be interested in working on aFinal Fantasytitle, featuring the similar strangeness.”
The Director seemed quite open about the idea and says: “I’m hoping for a big budget if I do work on it.” Though not a concrete answer, it does stir excitement and imagination as to what kind ofFinal Fantasyexperience we’ll get with him behind its development.

In another interview, also from GameStart 2017, the director and producer duo revealed how gung-ho they are foranotherNiergame. Also,2Bcan be yours, inplushyformat!
