Fight for the Future. Overwatch is a team-based shooter where heroes do battle in a world of conflict. Soldiers. Scientists. Adventurers. Oddities. In a time of global crisis, an international task force of heroes banded together to restore peace to a war-torn world: OVERWATCH. It ended the crisis and helped to maintain peace in the decades that followed, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery. But after many years, Overwatch’s influence waned, and it was eventually disbanded. Overwatch is gone… but the world still needs heroes…
Overwatch has 3 game modes,Payload,Point CaptureandControleach with a variety ofLocations. The maps rotate per match and with it the objectives. The objectives for each are slightly different and are as follows:
Beyond the 3 aforementioned modes isWeekly Brawl, where you are tossed into a series of matches with a uniquely customized rule setting. Each week the ruleset rotates to something completely different and always a little wonky. It’s a fun way to challenge yourself and learn heroes you may normally avoid.
In June, Blizzard plans to release aCompetitive Play Modethat will be available to players along with rankings and monthly seasons. Until then, players can spend some time leveling up in theProgression System, earning some new customization options for their Heroes.
