Pretty Boy Detective Club, known asBishonen Tanteidanin Japan, is originally a novel written by Nisioisin. A name you’ve definitely heard of if you’ve been watching anime for at least ten years. And saw theBakemonogatariandMonogatari Seriescraze unfold. Nisioisin is also known for shounen mangaMedaka Box(which in my opinion, sunk hard in its final arc), or the excellentKatanagatari.
Seemingly much less complicated, and overall more light hearted thanMonogatari Series,Pretty Boy Detective Clubhas the same mystery themes and Nisioisin touch. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. Especially seeing Studio Shaft (Madoka Magica) is adapting, with Akiyuki Shinbo directing, just like withMonogatari Series.
