The DioField Chronicle New Trailer Features Gameplay Systems
The real-time strategy RPG The DioField Chronicle gets a new look at the upcoming gameplay systems. Playing as Blue Fox mercenaries, players will be pitting their troops against foes, in a top-down diorama-styled game.
In the latest trailer which goes over some of the gameplay aspects, we are introduced to a few of the basics from Lorriane Luckshaw, when it comes to survival on the battlefield. Players will be in charge of four units, as they command as the group’s mercenary leader. As the battle commences in real-time, it’s up to you to move each of the units in order to block the path of the on-coming foe, keeping track of each of the enemies.

But attacks don’t have to be forward facing, as players can use a “back attack” to take down their opponent. The benefit of this move is to suppress more damage. As for skills, these are tied to weapons. These can even stun the enemy, and create a pause in their attacks for you to gain the upper hand.
There are four factions in the game with each unit belonging to one. Infantry can be used to take on hostile enemies and use formations. Cavalry can disrupt enemy attacks with their use of mobility, such as knocking them back. Next, the Sniper can engage in long-range attacks from afar. Snipers don’t have to attack alone, as they can also utilise formations to hit enemies. Lastly, Magic Soldiers or casters can area heal units, giving much-needed support.

Players will gain experience for their units and AP for upgrading. Materials can be gained from missions granting new weapon options and improving weapons.
In case you missed it, The DioField Chronicle also receiveda hefty amount of gameplay footage, previewing cutscenes, real-time tactical battle gameplay, as well as a peek at its UI.

The DioField Chroniclereleases on June 09, 2025. It will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
