During the event, where Astro Bot was crowned Game of the Year, The Game Awards 2024 also reached a new viewership milestone.

With 154 million global streams, The Game Awards 2024 has become the most-watched edition in the history of the show, as announced by Geoff Keighley, the creator and host, on X.

“Today, we are honored to share that the 10th-anniversary show recorded 154 million global streams, making it our most-watched edition ever,” Keighley explained.
“Thank you to our incredible team, the industry, and the fans for your time and trust in TGA,” he added on his personal account.
One of the standout moments of the event was the peak concurrent viewership on platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
According to StreamsCharts, over 4 million viewers tuned in during the show’s peak moments, surpassing the 2023 record by more than 10%.
Massive Social Media Impact
Fan interaction reached extraordinary levels, with over 112 million votes cast, including for the special “Players’ Voice” category.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, The Game Awards 2024 received an “A” rating in the fan opinion survey—an achievement Keighley described as a significant milestone for the team.
“This recognition means a lot to me and everyone who worked on the event, including the teams and developers who shared their work with us last week,” Keighley stated.
Expectations Soar for 2025
With such positive results, expectations for The Game Awards 2025 are sky-high.“I’m not sure how we’ll top this show, but there’s much more to come,” Keighley teased, hinting at even bigger surprises for next year.
This 10th anniversary not only celebrates TGA’s growth but also highlights the rise of video games as a major force in modern entertainment. The Game Awards 2025 promises to be another groundbreaking event, preceded by the equally significant Summer Game Fest next summer.
