R.E.P.O. takes a dark humor approach to thehorror game genre, but let’s take the funny out of things momentarily and address what causes our hearts to race: the monsters. There’s a healthy variety of monsters roaming at any given time.

10Apex Predator

It’s (Not) Just a Cute Duck

10 (up to 30 per second)

It’s a duckling. An adorable, waddling duckling that just about dares you to pick it up. If you do, it’ll be one of the worst mistakes you’ll make because this is the Apex Predator. The moment you touch it, it turns feral, snapping at you for the next ten seconds before returning to the peaceful little duckling.

The problem with this is that it’s tough not to pick it up since it goes out of its way to jump in front of you, especially when grabbing an item. Although it only does 10 damage, it does so 3 times per second. That’s potentially 30 HP gone in a second. If it strikes you each time for the 10 seconds it flies around, itwillkill you.

Deadly in a Pack

One Upscream is never something to worry too much about.TwoUpscreams? Now, we may be feeling the pressure. And if three show up, there’s a good chance you won’t make it. Seeing as they roam in packs, you’re more likely to encounter a couple of them.

An Upscream will grab you, scream and throw you away like trash, dealing minimal damage. A group can chain-damage and chain-stun you. This can continue until you’re dead if you don’t plan accordingly.

A Distorted Snowman

The Bowtie is the bull in R.E.P.O., easily one of the more difficult monsters thanks to how well it can ragdoll you. When triggered, it screeches and releases a shockwave that sends you (and smaller entities) flying.

8 Strongest Monsters in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3 brings back many monsters from the old games, and these are considered the strongest in this title.

This can injure you, hurl you into a pit or even send you into the awaiting arms of another monster. But that’s not all, because once it’s done with that, it’ll charge straight at you with impressive speed, knocking you and nearby items back.

Avoid the Swinging Arms

10 (up to 40 per second)

Like a scarecrow having a bad hair and makeup day, the Reaper is a vicious creature. She walks around idly, but once she lays eyes on you, she runs, wildlyswinging her blade arms. Not only can she wreck items, she’ll chip away at your HP if you let her get too close.

Worst of all, she can and will still attack you even when you’re crouched, so your best bet is to get out of her line of sight. She’ll forget she was ever coming after you within seconds of losing visual. If you can’t fight her, run and hide.

Big, Scary, and Deadly

The Headman lives up to his name. A giant, floating head, he’s easily one of the most lethal monsters you will encounter in R.E.P.O. Flashlights trigger him, so don’t flash your light at him. Once he gets going, he’s faster than he looks. One chomp will knock 50 of your HP out as well as send you flying backward, so don’t try to fight him directly.

6 Hardest Bosses in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, Ranked

From sea creatures to robots, at least your pirate adventures are never boring.

The only saving grace is that he has a cooldown period after each bite. And if he can’t find you, he’ll more than likely move along or vanish altogether. Just be careful if he sees you slip under some furniture like a table to hide. He’ll still try to bite you.

5Mentalist

Signs of Intelligent Life

Resembling a strange alien, the Mentalist floats around minding its own business until it sees you, and then it’s all over. It has psychic abilities, grabbing any unfortunate player within range of its bubble. And yes, it even gets you when you’re crouched and hiding. What makes it scarier is that it’s silent and can transport around the map.

Once it releases its bubble, you’re promptly slammed back down, suffering fall damage. Funnily enough, those who hide under furniture tend to have more life-ending injuries than those who stay out in the open.

And Not the Funny Kind

The Clown is an atrocious monster in R.E.P.O. for the best of reasons. Not only does it look disturbing, but it’s deadly at range and close up. Spotting you, it’ll use its odd bulb on its head to laser you which causes quick and lasting damage. Once that’s done, it’ll rush you and attempt to kick you.

Each of the Infected types in The Last of Us is different, and here they are ranked based on how difficult they are to fight.

Take care that if you manage to dodge the laser by crouching, you don’t get caught off guard by the kick. It can eat away at any remaining HP you have and be aware that there’s a chance it can still reach you even when hidden under furniture.

Don’t Breathe too Loudly Around Him

The Huntsman is responsible for the deaths of many unsuspecting robots (or bots set up by their friends for a quick laugh). He’s blind and yet one of the deadliest monsters around as he can easily one-shot you if your health isn’t high. And he quickly fires in the direction of any sound he hears.

You’d think if you’d simply stay quiet, you’re good, right? Well, other entities canruin your stealth. It’s one more reason why the duckling is the Apex Predator because there’s a good chance it’ll make noise right in front of you and get you killed by the ever-vigilant Huntsman.

The Ultimate Stalker

Don’t be fooled if you hear a baby crying in R.E.P.O. as that loud wailing is just another deadly monster itching to get close. It’s honestly one of the more terrifying monsters because it’ll stalk you silently before you realize it’s around. Don’t make eye contact with it. If you do, you’ll trigger it and it’ll relentlessly pursue you.

Once it catches up to you, it releases a dreadful scream that can hurl you around. Not only will the scream damage you, but you can collide with the environment and receive even more damage, making it potentially fatal.

A Creature Both Slow and Smart

The Trudge is easily the toughest and deadliest monster in R.E.P.O. Don’t let its sluggish nature fool you; it may be one of the slowest entities around, but its ability will drag you toward it and slam you with its mace for an insta-kill.

You’re not safe if you hide under furniture either. The Trudge can use its skull tendril to look around in lower spaces. It’s not dumb and it’s not immediately forgetful. If it knows you’re around, it will look for you.
