Various directors in the Hollywood film-making business have their unique styles and rules on set. Christopher Nolan has a no-cellphone policy while on set and Clint Eastwood has another style that he abides by when he sits down in the director’s chair.
Noting the policy of acting and the plethora of distractions that an actor faces, Eastwood’s policy that he abides by daily is to simply make everyone comfortable. The director aims to make everyone a part of the movie and removes every possible distraction that an actor can face while acting so that everybody’s nice and quiet…just the way he wants it.

Iconic director Christopher Nolan is infamous for certain rules that must be followed in his set. With a no-cellphone policy, the director makes sure that there could be no obstacles that an actor should face in the way of showing their greatness while in front of the camera.

Another iconic actor-turned-director follows the same principle, but his ways are a little different.Clint Eastwood, who starred as an actor in his career turned to directing and became the man-in-charge on set. With his movies that have often been referred to as revolutionary, Eastwood also abides by a policy when directing. According to the director, there should be no distractions for an actor while he is acting. To make this possible, Eastwood simply makes every person on set so comfortable in the environment that they feel like a part of the project.
“They’d do everything to distract you from playing a part. I thought, ‘I’m going to do everything I can do to make these people, the men and women in films, to make them feel like they’re there and they’re part of it.

“They don’t have to sit there and have somebody, people having an argument. There’s a million things that could distract you. Why make it tough? Make it as easy to fit right in.”
According to Eastwood, when everyone on the set is comfortable and feels their part in it, there’s no way any distractions could be possible for the actors on their way to greatness. Although abiding by this policy, several actors and directors have found trouble and difficulty working with Clint Eastwood since the director can sometimes be too rigid.
