8Ensure You are Not Lacking Water, Food or Rest

Makes HP and Stamina Recovery Easier

In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, it’s easy to get caught up hunting, building, or exploring and forget to pay attention to those little meters in the corner. But if your food, water, and rest levels start slipping, everything else does too. When all three bars are full or almost full, your character runs smoother across the board. You regain health at 2 HP per second, and your stamina bounces back quickly at 6 points per second.

On the flip side, once you lose a large chunk of your water, food and rest bars, your recovery slows down. By the time your meters fall to the halfway mark, you’re healing at half speed, stamina takes longer to recharge, and your stamina bar starts shrinking.

7Antipoison Potion is a Must-Have for the Entirety of the Game

You Can’t Survive Dangerous Regions Without Antipoison Potion

If you’re heading into the Whispering Swamp or planning to mess with tough enemies, you’ll want to bring some antipoison potions with you. Not because they’re nice to have, but because they’re pretty much the only thing standing between you and a slow, toxic death.

The antipoison potion is not too complicated to make. You’ll need Harralander, a Bittercap Mushroom, a Clay Vessel to hold it, and some Charcoal to power the Brewing Cauldron. Once you’ve got all that together, you may brew a potion that gives you five solid minutes where poison can’t touch you. It doesn’t cure poison you already have, so you’ll need to use it before you’re knee-deep in trouble.

6Collect Every Item You Dropped Before Respawning

Death is Not the End for You, But Your Items Could Be Lost

When you die in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you can always respawn, but don’t forget to pick up every item you dropped before respawning. To reclaim your items, you have to go back to where you died. The game helps you out a bit by marking the location with a skull on your map, so you won’t have to guess where you keeled over. When you get there, you’ll find a tombstone. Click it, and your items will be returned—assuming you’ve made room in your inventory. If your bags are full, your stuff won’t just jump in automatically. So it’s smart to build a crate nearby before interacting with the tombstone, so you have somewhere to stash whatever won’t fit.

To make things a bit easier for the future, set up a bed and make it your respawn point. Place it inside a roofed structure, and next time you die, you’ll come back closer to your dropped gear instead of respawning on the other side of the map.

5Grind Construction XP by Building and Deleting Structures

Grinding Construction XP Doesn’t Have to be Miserable if You Know What to Do

Construction can feel like a bit of a slog to level, but it’s one of thoseskills that quietly pays off once you’ve put in the time. One of the most important tricks is to build a bunch of basic structures like roof and floor and then delete them. You get all your materials back when you tear something down, so you’re able to loop this over and over.

The catch is that if you keep making the same type of structure, the XP starts to slow down because of a cooldown. So it helps to mix it up a bit. If you can get it to level 40, you will get Personal Chest, which lets you access your storage from wherever you are. No need to trek back to base just to grab a tool or a snack.

4The Best Melee Weapon to Get is the Abyssal Whip

Well-Rounded Weapon Choice That Doesn’t Disappoint in Any Area

There’s a lot of great weapons in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, but Abyssal Whip is my favorite for many reasons. For one, it’s attack speed is second to none. And when it comes to attack combo, it offers a longer chain than the Granite Maul. When you use the Abyssal Snare, the whip sends out a ground-based wave that knocks enemies over. It’s especially useful in places like Vaults where enemies tend to cluster, and controlling space becomes a priority. The ability doesn’t just look cool, it has practical value when you’re trying to avoid getting surrounded.

To make the Abyssal Whip, you’ll need to take down the Abyssal Demon, since that’s where you get the Abyssal Spine. You’ll also need materials like Hard Leather, Ram Horns, and some Vault-related items like Shards and a Core. It’s a bit of work, but not outrageous for a weapon at this level.

3Don’t Bother Getting the Crystal Bow and Staff of Light at First

Save Yourself the Energy of Crafting Underwhelming Weapons

It’s easy to look at weapons like the Crystal Bow or the Staff of Light and think they might be good long-term investments. They’ve got unique crafting requirements and some cool features. But right now, they don’t really hold up when you actually try to use them. There are no perks or passives to improve how both weapons perform.

you’re able to equip them, sure, but they’re running without the usual skill boosts you’d expect. The Staff of Light, for example, has no special ability at all. It does okay damage on paper, but that’s about it. The Crystal Bow at least has a move called Scattershot, which lets you hit multiple enemies. The problem is that its damage output isn’t great when compared to the Blightwood Shortbow, which hits harder and has similar range utility. And then there’s the issue of crafting, which is difficult because Vault Cores and Shards don’t drop frequently.

2Craft Higher-Tier Tools to Smoothly Progress Through the Main Quest

Focus on Crafting Higher-Tier Tools

If you’ve been poking around in RuneScape: Dragonwilds and wondering why you’re suddenly stuck during the main quest, there’s a good chance your tools are holding you back. The game quietly expects you to keep upgrading your gear, and not just weapons and armor, but your tools too. Without higher-tier picks and axes, you literally can’t collect some of the materials you need to move forward.

Every Side Quest in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Ranked

If you’re not sure where to start or want to know which side quests in RuneScape: Dragonwilds are worth the time, this list will help.

Let’s sayyou’re trying to mine Graniteor Gold Ore. You won’t get anywhere with a basic pickaxe. You need a Bronze Pickaxe, which is Tier 3. If you want to gather Dragon Tooth or Bloodwood Sap, that’s locked behind Tier 4 tools like Iron Pickaxes and Logging Axes. These aren’t optional upgrades. They’re tied directly to harvesting the kinds of resources the main storyline depends on.

1You Can Only Find Vault Shards and Vault Cores in Vaults

Vault Shards and Vault Cores are Used to Craft Furnace and Smithing Forge

If you’re serious about setting up the bigger crafting stations like the Furnace or Smithing Forge, you’re going to have to start diving into Vaults. These dungeons aren’t just there for loot and combat; they’re the only places where you can get Vault Shards and Vault Cores.

Vault Shards tend to drop from enemies inside the Vault, especially the Guardians. Vault Cores are a bit trickier; they’re tucked away in the boss rooms, so you’ll need to make it to the end of the Vault if you want one. A Furnace, for example, requires a bunch of Vault Shards to build, and you’ll need that if you plan on turning raw ore into usable bars. Same goes for the Smithing Forge, which is key for making better tools.
