AsGlen Powell’s star power continues to grow (following the success ofAnyone But You), the actor recently revealed that he turned down a leading role in one of the biggest sci-fi franchises…Jurassic Park. The actor, who soon stars in the natural disaster movieTwisters(alongsideNormal People’s Daisy Edgar-Jones) andNetflix’s latest action/comedy,Hit Man,was tapped for the leading role in the next film in the franchise,Jurassic World 4. However, he was recently very honest aboutwhy he decided to turn down the role.
In an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter, Powell revealed that he declined the role because he wanted to choose projects that would make audiences, and himself, happy. The actor has earned a reputation for being selective with the roles he takes on, having recently also turned down a major role inBourne 6.

“It’s about choosing where you’re going to make an audience happy and where you’re going to make yourself happy,” Powell said.
During the interview, the actor revealed that he had read the script and, although he declined the project, declared that “the movie’s going to f*cking kill.” Powell continued:

“Jurassic is one of my favorite movies. It’s one of the things I’ve wanted to do my whole life. I’m not doing that movie because I read the script and I immediately was like, my presence in this movie doesn’t help it. And the script’s great. The movie’s going to f*cking kill. It’s not about that.”
Glen Powell also revealed two types of projects he definitively wants to stay away from: “pandering Oscar bait” and “Marvel fare.” The actor was among fan’s favorites toplay Cyclops in the MCU’s upcomingX-Menmovie. However, his comments have left fan castings dead in the water. However, there is still the possibility that Powell could appear in James Gunn’s reinvigorated DCU. Speaking recently about the various superhero roles he’s been fan cast as, the actor commented that he was a fan of Booster Gold (who’ll bereceiving a standalone movie in the future), calling him “a really funny” character.

Glen Powell Has Already Starred in the Jurassic World Franchise
