If there’s one aspect ofFinal Fantasy XIVthat goes overlooked, it’s PvP. Final Fantasy XIV has always been a PvE MMORPG, and not without Square Enix trying to dip their toes into the PvP scene. They continue to implement better and more exciting content for the mode, and have even held tournaments for their team-based PvP mode, Crystalline Conflict. Sadly, most of the time it’s an afterthought at the core of what makes Final Fantasy XIV special: the story and raids.

With that said, Square Enix continues to implement new incentives for players to participate in the PvP modes.

The latest alliance raid is finally upon us, but do you remember where things last left off?

What are the PvP Skins?

Ever since Endwalker, we’ve received a Series Malmstone, not too dissimilar to Battle Passes, with the main differentiating factor being that there’s no paid option. You simply play the game to unlock rewards.

While this has been Square Enix’s main focus, they have still been adding items to their Trophy Shop in hopes of players interacting more with the Series Malmstones. Most of the progression in the Series Malmstone comes in the form of Trophy Crystals that can be exchanged for cosmetics, mounts, minions and Framer Kits.

People who have interacted with PvP in the past no doubt have an absurd number of Trophy Crystals, but finally, Square Enix is giving us something to spend them on as they have added “Critical Hit” outfits in patch 7.3, with three sets that come in two color schemes for each.

Where to Get the PvP Skins

to get the PvP skins, you will first need to have access to theWolves’ Denjust outside Limsa Lominsa. Once you have access to this, you will be able to participate in the various PvP modes, gaining experience points towards your Series Malmstone.

As you progress, you will unlock higher levels or rewards, but along the way you will earn Trophy Crystals that can be exchanged at the shop in the Wolves’ Den. You will need to go into the small indoor area in the area and talk to the“Crystal Quartermaster” (X: 4.5 Y: 6.1).

After talking to him, select the “Trophy Crystal Exchange (Universal Gear) I” to bring up what he has in-stock. To better filter out the new gear, hit the “Show only recently added items” on the top left and this will bring up all the Critical Hit outfits. You will need to buy each individually for 1,500 Trophy Crystals, with a full set costing 7,500.

Being they’re level 1 gear, they’re meant to be glamoured over your existing equipment, so either take it to your Glamour Dresser or use a Glamour Prism right there to utilize your newly obtained stylish outfits.
