Blizzard announces the release date for World of Warcraft Classic which releases on August 27th, as well as the closed beta which goes lives on May 15th.

Finally releasing the launch date forWorld of Warcraft Classicwhich will go live on August 27th.Blizzardhave also announced that the closed beta will take place on May 15th. Those who have a current World of Warcraft subscription will be able to play Classic once it releases in August as part of their subscription.

How to Opt-In for Beta
Players who are interested in taking part of the beta will need to log into their Blizzard account, under the “Go to Beta Profile Settings” and make sure World of Warcraft is checked. you’re able to also access theWorld of Warcraft Classicwebsite to opt in under Beta Profile Settings.
Reserve Your Character
If you’re hoping to reserve your character name in WoW Classic, you will be able to start character creation on August 13th. Those who have an active subscription or game time can create up to three characters per account. So far realm names have not been released but Blizzard assures these will come later, closer to launch.
Collector’s Edition Pre-order
There will also be a World of Warcraft Classic Collector’s Edition Box available for $99.99 which marks WoW 15th anniversary. The collector’s edition includes a limited edition statue of Ragnoras.
